Pop up banners are a great way to create interest and a buzz about your business.  You can promote your brand with maximum effect and minimum effort with a pop up banner.  These can also be used again and again so it maximises the investment spent on it.  Make the right first impression by using these tips to make yours stand out from the crowd.

  1. You will need to consider where you are going to be using your banner. Is it going to be placed into your office, at networking events, at advertising events or exhibitions?  In exhibition or other events, the text should be simple as people will not be concentrating on each banner so may forget what yours says.  You can add more information if it will be staying in your reception area or office where people will be able to take in the information on the pop up banner more easily.
  1. Social icons should be used on all your marketing materials. So, therefore they should be included on your banner.  Keep it simple still but a lot of people will remember your social media username and they may even put it into their phone while they are looking at the banner.  So, make sure all social media usernames are spelt correctly on your banner.
  1. According to Jamie from Dock Street Signs “Do not make your pop up banner look too fussy. You want it to be simple and clear.  Too much information on a pop up banner and the customer will quickly lose interest and not remember anything on it.”  You want your brand and your banner to be memorable and to stand out from the crowd so make it something eye catching.  Colours used should be neutral ones.  This ensures that the information you are trying to get across to people stands out more, so people are not distracted from the background.
  1. High quality materials and images should be used as this is the first impression for your business. This will give your business a more professional and polished look about it.  If you use cheap materials to save money, in the long run this will be money wasted as you will have to buy more of the banners if they are not good quality.  Also, you will portray your business as being one that saves money on marketing and as this is a first impression, it will show that your business also is not one of quality.  Therefore, your customers or potential customers will more than likely use a company that has a more professional feel to it.

Call to action is a must for all pop up banners.  You need to think about what action you want your customers to take after they have looked at your banner.  Is it to visit your website, a facebook page or even an offer you have running at the time, a discount etc.  These are all very important factors to think about when you are designing your banner.
